Stereo speakers are two speakers built into a single device. They are usually positioned on the left and right side of the device and each speaker uses the respective channel of stereo sound, thus producing a stereo effect.
Stereo effect: It is illusion created by the reproduction of sound that the listener receives the sensation that individual sounds are coming from different locations.
Here are some of the popular sound technologies used for stereo sound in speaker. These are basically a way by which an audio signal is received & converted so that a speaker or a group of speakers can produce a stereo effect.

Speaker output RMS
It is the value used to represent the average power output a speaker can give for a longer period without getting damaged or distorted. It is measured in watts. It is an essential parameter for determining the loudness of the speaker. It is like that, if the sound input power is higher than the speaker output RMS, then the speaker sound quality will get deteriorated.
Speaker output RMS gives you the value for a sustainable power output over a longer period of time. But there is also a similar term PMPO (peak momentary power output) which also is measured in watts. Generally many manufactures doesn’t specify that weather the power output they have shown is in terms RMS or PMPO.
See, PMPO is the peak output that a speaker can bear for an instant. But if this power output continues for a longer period of time then it will damage the speaker.
So it gets essential to verify that which one is displayed in the specification.Because PMPO doesn’t give the idea about actual loudness.
